ReplyDeleteGood Luck on the tour Ben. I know your mom will miss you but what a great oppertunity this is. Just don't forget to stay in touch with your family every once in awhile.
ReplyDeleteI follow your mom's fantastic blog. Enjoy the experience of a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteHi Ben, I'm popping over from your mom's place to wish you the very best on your exciting new venture.
ReplyDeleteHi Ben, I am another mother from your mom's blog. Have an incredible time. It is such great fun to watch our kids follow their passions.
ReplyDeleteENJOY!!!
You're going to have groupies of your own~all of your mom's quilty buddies~Oh yea! Have a good time, Ben~what an opportunity! Remember, your mom loves you the most!
ReplyDeleteWow, how many guys have this many groupies without performing onstage?!? Coming from your Mom's place to say Hello and Good Luck. Take lots of pics and watch out for loose women and fast cards!
ReplyDeleteHi Ben,
ReplyDeleteI stumbled upon your mom's blog as a modern quilter myself. As a young, free spirit, only worried about living a happy, fun life I wish you the best of luck....sometimes doing what's different and unexpected has the best reward! Enjoy your amazing experience!
Yep...I've come over from your mom's blog too.
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome time touring - I saw my first ever gig in Norwich (it was Ned's Atomic Dustbin - I doubt they ever went Stateside) when I was 16. I had too much warm beer, not enough to eat, collapsed and had to be carried out over the top of the crowd by the St. John's Ambulance people. Yeh. Cool.
Have fun in Europe! In Cologne, go to teh chocolate museum (on the river in a building that looks half boat/half castle) and send some Sarotti chocolate home to your mom. The pedestrian (Fussganger) zone from the center of town down to the river is quite lively at night with lots of restaurants and clubs in addition to the usual shopping. I lived in Wiesbaden for four years -- it's a great place. Try foods other than bratwurst and Schnitzel (although if you like a somewhat spicy sauce, a Zigeuener Schnitzel is yummy!). Flammkuchen is like a white pizza with bacon -- our family's fave! Crystal Weizen is delicious wheat beer but don't tell your mom I suggested you try beers. If you guys are really brave, you can try a massage and sauna treatment at the Kaiser Wilhelm Spa (Thermal Bad) at the swanky end of the main drag. If you like old timey technical wonders, take the Nerobergbahn from the end of town up to the top of teh hill overlooking Wiesbaden -- it's powered by water ballast! There's a great pool at the top too, but by October it will probably be closed for the winter. The nearby town of Rudesheim is totally touristy, but quaint, and a tour of the Asbach brandy distillery might be interesting (they've got great chocolates too). Munich is, well, Munich! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Oslo totally rocks too!
ReplyDeleteHey Ben, Love your Mom, and you are in for the ride of your life, enjoy it all, but not too much, you Mom will need a call every once in a while!
ReplyDeleteVery nice poster for the show!
ReplyDeleteI'm here from Mom's blog, too. Do me a favor, when you're in Milan, eat some real Italian pizza and get to the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology. It's amazing.
ReplyDeleteOh...and whatever you do, don't feed the pigeons at the Duomo. I nearly lost an eye. ha
I follow your mom's blog too. I am so jealous of your big adventure. To tour the world while working. What a dream! Have fun!!

ReplyDeleteSkipped over via your mom's blog. This is a huge opportunity for you. Big as in B.I.G. Have fun but be careful (sorry...it's what us moms have to say).
ReplyDeleteP.S. That poster puts me in mind of The Dead. Super fly.
P.S.S. I hate typos, which is the reason for my previous deletion.
What a fantastic experience Ben!!! Have a fabulous trip and enjoy your new career. Glad to see you are coming Down Under.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you on this fun and fantastic journey!
ReplyDeleteHahaha -- look at all these "moms" to look after you! What a fantastic experience -- have a fantastic time in Europe -- and ... Remember To Call Home -- Your Mother Loves You!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your awesome adventure! Make your mom proud.
ReplyDeleteBen, I've popped over via Mums blog (don't be mad at her, she just loves you) Have a great tour and stay safe. When you hit Brisbane next year, I'll be standing outside with a placard over my head reading "Washing $2.00 a load". Just in case you can't find a Laundromat.
ReplyDeleteAnother of your mom's "friends" here to wish you the best. My musician hubby and daughter would love to be tagging along! This will be a great adventure for you. I wonder how close you'll get to Nashville?
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky! Enjoy Europe! I've been trying to get my 24 yo daughter to venture out, with no luck. See the world while you're young! Be awesome!
ReplyDeleteHey Ben - what a fabulous opportunity! Your mom is so proud, we can feel the love in her post. Stay safe, be careful, but enjoy yourself. May God be with you.
